Physical Education and Sports
The Department of Physical Education and Sports came into existence in the year 1949. The former Directors were Prof. Bhaskar D. Pathak, Prof. Soma Z. Nikore, and Prof. Dhananjay Kane. Since March 2012, Dr. Sambhaji Bhonsale is heading the department. Mr. Sunil Choudhary, Support staff member has been appointed in the department in the year 1998. The department has Gym facilities for students as well as for teaching and non-teaching staff. Number of students have participated in various games and sports at intercollegiate, university, national, and international levels. Many students are ‘Colour holders’ and have won championships in various games.
Infrastructural Facility
Various outdoor and indoor sports viz basketball, football, cricket, kabaddi, volleyball, mallakhamb, gymnastics, and, tabletennis, chess, carrom are available.
The department has a gymnasium facility with a multipurpose hall. Every year department conducts recreational games as part of the annual social gathering. Recently, volleyball and basketball courts constructed. Additionally, the green gymnasium was built with a generous help from Mr. Mohan Mate, MLA, Nagpur South constituency.
