Skill based education is the best way of socio-economic development. Education is important not only for business development but has the power of maintaining social harmony too. Due to fall in skill based education there is an increase in unemployment in our society. This issue needs to be addressed seriously, and skill based education should be imparted to the students. These were the views expressed by Dr. G.D.Sharma, V.C., Atal Bihari Vajpeyi University, Bilaspur C.G. during the inaugural function of NAAC-Sponsored ‘Two Days’ national Seminar on Teaching Learning, Evaluation and Best Practices for Quality Sustenance in Higher Education’ organized by IQAC of Shri Mathuradas Mohota College of Science, Nagpur on 13th December, 2019 in collaboration with RTM, Nagpur University, Nagpur at Mohota Science college Nagpur. He further said that India’s education index is 23.6% where as China is far ahead with 46%, and hence we should make comparative study of this situation in order to invest substantially in the education sector. Self-confidence and self-sufficiency should be inculcated among the students and they should be able to adapt themselves to the changing technologies.
