Teacher Mentors for BSc Semester I 2024-25

All the students of BSc Semester I are hereby informed that they have been divided in different batches and teacher mentors have been assigned for every batch. The contact details of the faculty members are available on the college website. The students will be added to subject specific WhatsApp groups and there they can communicate with their mentors for further instructions.

A mentor will

  • — maintain confidentiality with respect to an individual mentee’s issues, performance, etc.,
  • — establish faith in the minds of the mentee students,
  • — try to understand the academic, social, and psychological needs of the mentees,
  • — act like a facilitator,
  • — help the students in understanding the functioning of the institutions, various facilities available to the mentees on the campus and online,
  • — help the students in all the examination related work,
  • — conduct periodic meetings in a batch and individually, whenever needed,
  • — conduct a meeting with parents to understand their perception about the college and to let them know about the college, various opportunities available for the students and the progress of their child,
  • — make sincere efforts towards boosting the self-esteem and confidence or to develop if a mentee lacks them,
  • — assist the mentees in their academics,
  • — talk to the teachers of other subjects regarding the difficulties faced by the mentees with that subject, if required,
  • — encourage the mentees to participate in various activities, competitions in and out of the institutions,
  • — assist the mentees in making decisions about the career choices, if required
  • — keep the mentees well informed about various examinations to enter higher studies,
  • — pass on the information about various job opportunities,
  • — take feedback about their progress and grievance periodically,
  • — help the mentees in their overall development.
